Bridesmaids

Allison Olson

Allison was first a friend of Sam's. They met in Boer-Bennink and when Christina started dating Sam, she decided that she liked Allison too. Allison graduated with a social work major and a psychology minor from Calvin. She is currently nannying for Lucas, a very cute toddler.

Nicole Ludema

Nicole is Christina's younger sister.  She is thirteen years old and will be entering high school next fall. She loves to sing, dance and ride horses. Nicole and Christina starting riding horses together at their Grandma Wiersma's house in Montana.

Naomi Kruis

Naomi and Christina first met as suitemates in the dorms at Calvin College. Naomi is from Rehoboth, NM and graduated from Calvin in 2005 with a Nursing degree. After traveling to Malaysia in July, she plans to return home to New Mexico to work as a nurse in a hospital there.

Jessica Dekker

Jessica Dekker is both a friend and a former housemate of Christina. She is from Saint Catharine's Ontario. The first conversation with her revealed that her family was working in Central America at the same time as both the Ludema and Boldenow families. Jessica graduated with an English Major from Calvin this spring. She will be working in Grand Rapids next year. Jessica is an excellent cook and is interested in the slow food movement.

Molly Murray

Molly and Christina met in first grade in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.  They had a lot of fun walking home for lunch together until Christina moved to Illinois after 8th grade.  Molly spent the past year in Argentina study the culture there and the Spanish language. She currently attends Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio.

Katie Timmermans

Katie lived on the same floor as Christina (and Naomi) their freshman year.  She is studying Psychology at Calvin. Katie is working at Calvin's Service Learning Center getting materials together for a new class, Reformed Activism, that will start in the fall.

Groomsmen

Luke Baker

Luke Baker is a friend of Sam's from Miami, where they got to know each other at church and on the swings during recess at school. Later, in addition to hanging out at school and at church, they ran track and also worked together. Luke is married to Mandy and works at Gospelcom in Muskegon, Michigan.

Peter Boldenow

Peter is Sam's older brother. He is married to Tanya and they live in Ann Arbor and attend Ann Arbor CRC. He currently is working on a PhD in epidemiology at the University of Michigan.

Luke Maring

Luke Maring is also a friend of Sam's from Miami. He is married to Colleen and finished his degree at Calvin College this spring with a Math and Philosophy double major.

Mitch Machiela

Mitch is also from Florida, but met Sam in Boer-Bennink and lived with him last year. Mitch graduated from Calvin with a Biology major and is currently working at Van Andel Research Institute in Grand Rapids.

Neil Lensink

Neil is from Saint Catharine's Ontario. He got to know Sam on a spring break canoeing trip in Miami where they spent a lot of time together due to car troubles on the way back to Grand Rapids. He graduated from Calvin College with a Philosophy major and is considering graduate school in Political Science.

Ryan Tans

Ryan Tans is from Anchorage, Alaska. He got to know Sam in Boer-Bennink which started a relationship of many camping trips. Ryan worked the last year for the Mennonite Central Committee with an organization called Hope for Change in the Philippines. He is signing on for another two years with MCC this time in Indonesia

Adam Goforth

Adam is a friend of Luke Baker who got to know Sam when they lived together their senior year at Calvin. Adam lives in Ann Arbor (as a boarder of Christina's aunt) where he is working on a Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering. He works for Bethany Christian Services IT department.

Joel Reasoner

Joel is from Minnesota. He met Sam through Ryan, who was Joel's roommate Freshman and Sophomore years. Joel was an apartment mate of Sam's and works for a construction company.
